Yellow Tail Sales Aid Australia Wild Fires Relief

Yellow Tail Sales Aid Australia Wild Fires

Fires continue to rip through Australia.  Estimates are $3.5 billion in damages, 15.6 million acres torched and over 1 billion animals lost.  In an effort to help, Belmont Beverage / Chalet Party Shoppes and Yellow Tail Wines will combine to donate $1 for every bottle of Yellow Tail (750s and 1.5s) sold at Belmont Beverage/Chalet Party Shoppes from January 20th through February 29th.

The money will be split between 2 charities: Vets Beyond Borders – delivering life-saving medical care to animals affected by the Australian bush fires and One Tree Planted – planting one tree per $1 donated for long term restoration throughout Australia, replacing the exact trees needed for specific areas.

Vets Beyond Borders

Vets Beyond Borders (VBB) is an Australian-based charity, established in 2003. They work with communities around the world, delivering animal health and community awareness programs where they are desperately needed.

Around the world, hundreds of animal welfare organisations are striving to improve the lot of millions of animals that have no other access to veterinary attention. All too often, a main obstacle to providing such treatment is a lack of adequate veterinary health facilities and clinical personnel, resulting in widespread animal suffering.

VBB recruits highly experienced volunteer vets and vet nurses, deploying them them into these communities to work with local vets and associated staff to provide quality animal care.

They also deliver clinical training to refine the skills of animal welfare workers overseas, and a community/school education program designed to increase awareness of the importance of kindness to animals, how to behave around animals and responsible pet ownership.

Over the last decade, as a result of the work of VBB volunteers and local staff, this statewide initiative has led to marked improvements in animal health and a dramatic reduction in the number of rabies deaths.

One Tree Planted

ONE TREE PLANTED IS A 501C3 NON-PROFIT WITH A FOCUS ON GLOBAL REFORESTATION.
As an environmental charity, they are dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world. All by planting trees!

Started in 2014, One Tree Planted has more than doubled the number of trees planted year over year. Fast-forward to today, they now work with awesome reforestations partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa who help us get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity.

At the moment, the focus in Australia is on managing and mitigating the fires at hand, as well as protecting properties and assessing the impact they have had on local communities and environments. Plenty of support will be needed to restore this landscape back to health.

While trees for this project will not go in the ground until the fires have ceased and the soil is ready for plantation, your support will help make sure One Tree Planted is ready to hit the ground running and repair the country’s beautiful and iconic landscape once planting season hits. They expect to have the ability to contribute to the restoration of over 6 million trees across the country in 2020 thanks to generous donors’ ongoing support.
